but the moves wil always be weaker then flying type or water type moves.
a thunder attack would do lessdamage then hydropomp.
also thunder, hydropomp, flamethrower are all special attacks.
and gyarados is offensive is physical.

So your theorie is that attacks like aquatail, bounce, dive, waterfall, would do better damage then
flamethrower,thunderbolt, or icebeam?
or outrage,blizard,fireblast,thunder,hydropomp?

Indeed, thats my theory. since aquatail is both attack andwater type move. it does damage calculated with the basepower of 90+ bonus from attack stat.. and type bonus.
same goes for bounce and waterfall.
however i think dive is to weak in base power to supess hydropomp..

I am a triple evolution guy. I only capture triples (until the end, when I capture all).
I am also an aesthetics person. I go for looks more than ability. For instance, my stater would be Charmander > Bulbasaur and Squirtle, but in Gen 4 I would choose Turtwig over Chimchar and Piplup. It's not about their abilities, it's about. "In future, it will be on its last evolution, does X look better than X?"

But when I can I usually have a Metagross. Really only came into problems with electric types with that one.

My favourite is my Staraptor. It looks cool and has finished off most battles.

I'm a strategist.
I only keep pokemkn with the best EVs, DVs, IVs. I also choose good movesets according to their stats.
I also try to build a team with type adventage, and pokemon which likely have less weak points. I also train different pokemon.
A sweeper. Mostly extremely fast, and quick blowing attack,.
A bulky tank. The one with high defensive abilites, these are mostly the ones with DOT moves.
The warrior: a pokemon which is balanced in both high attack and defence. They can tank out, and still throw some good punches.
I got alot of other strategies. I also keep pokemons based in abilities and nature. I also love it to collect shiny pokemon
I guess that is the kind of trainer i'm, and what kind of teams i would build.
I mostly try to use not to obvious choosings..
